Yoga Therapy is a one on one, client-based treatment incorporating various traditional yoga tools to address various medical and mental health conditions, as well as lifestyle-changing wellness. Yoga Therapy approaches treatment from an evidence-based perspective, combining the knowledge of other professional fields such as biomedical, mental health, and physical therapy. Sessions are customized to the client’s needs and goals.
What to expect in an appointment
The key components that help the therapist provide an ideal and custom session for you include an intake form for you to fill out and assessments. It includes a brief (relevant) health history, the focus of treatment, and your goals for treatment.
Yoga Therapy provides you the opportunity to talk out what concerns you or express it through movement. You are introduced to experiential methods that can help address the root of what holds you back from your full potential to thrive and be healthy.
We may also do various assessments to help pinpoint key physiological/energetic limitations that may contribute to your health concerns. This type of therapy is a holistic approach to health and healing.

Other Useful Information
COVID
Studies are being done around Yoga and COVID. It can have some benefits in helping a person cope with the experience of COVID. It is ideal to work with a therapist who has experience in this area because the virus can have devastating risks. Intuitive Spirit Healing Arts is capable of working with clients with COVID (virtually only).
Injury or Surgery
Yoga Therapy can be a good option if you just had a recent injury or surgery. Please note that other yoga methods would be used instead of the more known yoga asanas (or postures). To accomplish the much-needed quality rest to support healing, we may use Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Pranayama, etc.
Another modality option is Reiki.
