This specific modality was developed by practitioner and author Lee Albert. It combines the techniques of Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Strain/Counterstrain (SCS). Integrated Positional Therapy focuses on rebalancing and realigning the body’s structure with the goal of reducing pain, strain, and overall discomfort in the body.
IPT is thought to be a long-term solution. Treatment involves retraining problem muscle groups and improving proper posture and overall function to avoid passive injury, muscle fatigue, soreness, tightness, stiffness, and pain.
